These salt cellars are made from marble and the unique designs formed in the marble make them very attractive. The cellars are not identical. I found this out by putting the lid from one onto the other one. I didn't realize it at first, but I noticed a gap between the lid and the base. I turned the lid to see if it would line up, but it did not. I then put the lid on the other base and it fit perfectly. Even though it went on like it fit it was a little off.
I like that the bases have a slot for the small spoons that were included. My old salt cellar doesn't have a place for a spoon and I just set the spoon on top of it.
I plan to use one for pepper and the other for salt. I am happy with the way these look and I'm glad I ordered them.
These marble salt (and pepper) cellars are a great addition to our kitchen counter. While we have grinders for these most commonly used spices, when preparing a recipe, it's much more convenient to access the salt and pepper from the countertop, rather than retrieving containers from the cabinets. They look great, they're very heavy (which translates to stability on the counter), and the included spoons are also very nicely designed and finished. These are a great value for the price.
These stone pieces are really stunning and look great next to the stove. I'm doing salt in one and pepper in the other. The spoons are perfect, and when allowed to scoop up as much as they can hold, I'd estimate they can provide a teaspoonful. Level is probably closer to a quarter teaspoon. Absolutely love these!
