We were looking for a set of trivets to protect our kitchen surfaces, and these have worked out very well. The stone has a handsome, oceanic pattern that complements our existing marble countertops nicely.
They feel substantial and are clearly well-made. The 8-inch diameter is a practical size for most of the pots and pans we use regularly. They provide a stable surface and have done an excellent job of protecting the counter from heat.
Having a matching set of two is also quite convenient for when we have multiple hot dishes on the go. They serve their function perfectly while adding a touch of style to the kitchen.
It seems impossible to be this in awe of a couple of trivets, but these are more like pieces of minimalist, functional sculpture. I'm obsessed! The onyx will obviously always vary. In my case, the smaller trivet has bold brown parts against a cream background, while the larger one is the more typical shades of dusty green. It's not a matching pair, which only adds to their uniqueness.
They are very heavy so, although it's possible to break them, they're unlikely to move around or fall off the table or counter. I would urge caution if using them under a cast iron pan, as it seems possible to scratch the smooth finish (maybe the marble trivets would be okay, but onyx is a bit softer).
My order came quickly and was incredibly well-packed. This would make a fantastic wedding or housewarming gift.
All in all, I can't say enough good things about these trivets. They're simply stunning, in a way that you may not think trivets even could be. A winning product.
What gorgeous trivets! They look so much prettier than the old silicone trivet I had before. I can actually leave them out. I got the white marble, they are solid, and somewhat heavy. They can hold a variety of hot pans and dishes. I couldn't find any defects in the stone. If you want something pretty that you can leave out and is functional, I would highly recommend these. They are well worth the money.
My wife loves these trivets, they are absolutely gorgeous. They look even better in person than in the pictures. They are fantastic for the tea kettle and the small one nestles my wok perfectly off the counter. They have a really nice weight to them as well. If these match the asthetic you are looking you should grab them. I'm thinking about putting some padding one one side just to make them slip resistant, but the weight does a good job of that just an extra thought.
First I love how these sit for easy storage. I use these because I use my air fryer every day and that comes out hot. But what makes this set perfect is you just pop out the inner ring and you have a second trivet on standby anytime you need it. It matches the white motif in my kitchen perfectly they are solid, heavy duty, and just beautiful. Worth it.

Two marble ring trivets — one large (8 inches) for Dutch ovens, cast iron skillets, and large serving bowls, and one small (6 inches) for saucepans, soup bowls, and smaller dishes — that protect marble countertops, wood dining tables, and kitchen counters from heat marks, scorch rings, and surface damage. Available in six natural stone colors, each set is hand-carved from genuine natural marble with a polished finish and protective base pads.
What This Marble Trivet Set of 2 Includes
- Two ring trivets in graduated sizes: The large ring (8" diameter × 0.8" thick) handles full-size cookware — Dutch ovens, cast iron skillets, woks, large sauce pans, roasting pans, and large serving bowls straight from the oven. The small ring (6" diameter × 0.8" thick) handles smaller vessels — individual soup bowls, saucepans, ceramic baking dishes, teapots, coffee carafes, and single-serve casserole dishes. Both sizes live permanently on the counter — the right size is always at hand before a hot pan arrives.
- Open-center ring form — not a solid disc: The hollow center of each trivet allows air to circulate under the hot dish, which disperses heat more effectively than a sealed flat trivet surface. This ring design also means the marble material is visible from above when a dish sits on it — the trivet functions as a counter decor piece when not protecting the surface from heat.
- Six natural marble color options: White · Green Onyx · Oceanic · Black Zebra · Verona · Travertine — each carved from a different marble variety with distinct natural veining, tone, and surface character. Every trivet in the set has unique natural stone variation that makes it one of a kind within its color family.
- Protective base pads included: Each ring has protective pads on its base that prevent the marble edge from scratching polished countertop surfaces, wood dining tables, and glass tables during use. The ring rests on the protective pads — not the raw marble edge — at all times.
- Genuine natural marble confirmed: Each trivet ships with Speshstones branded packaging. The marble is natural stone — not resin, ceramic with a marble print, or composite material.
Why a Marble Trivet Outperforms Silicone, Cork, and Wire for Kitchen Counter Use
A natural stone trivet solves every practical problem the common alternatives create. Silicone trivets do not damage countertops but they absorb kitchen odors over time and discolor with extended heat exposure — a white silicone trivet left on a counter beside the stove turns yellow within months. Cork trivets compress and crack with repeated heat cycles, and the surface stains permanently from any liquid that drips from the pot base. Wire or metal trivets conduct heat — the wire frame itself can transfer enough temperature to mark a lacquered dining table surface if the dish is extremely hot. A marble trivet does none of these things. The natural stone does not absorb odors, does not discolor from heat, does not warp or compress, and does not conduct heat along its own surface the way metal does. After a year of daily use a natural marble trivet looks identical to the day it arrived — a functional kitchen piece that does not need replacing on an annual cycle.
As trivets for marble countertops, this set is a genuinely appropriate material choice. Marble countertop owners face a specific problem that other trivet materials do not fully address — a silicone or fabric trivet placed on a white marble counter creates a visual mismatch that interrupts the stone surface's appearance. A marble ring trivet in White, Oceanic, or Travertine placed on a marble counter reads as an extension of the surface rather than a functional pad laid on top of it. The ring form allows the counter surface to remain partially visible through the open center, which preserves the visual continuity of the countertop even when the trivet is in permanent use position. For buyers with marble, quartz, or granite countertops, a marble table protector in a coordinating stone color is the most visually cohesive solution available.
As trivets for the dining table during oven-to-table serving, both ring sizes cover the most common serving vessel formats. The 8-inch large ring holds a full-size Dutch oven, a large ceramic baking dish, or a soup tureen at the center of the dining table without the trivet looking undersized relative to the vessel. The 6-inch small ring holds individual casserole dishes, covered soup bowls, and single-serve ceramic pieces for plated serving at a formal dining setup. During a dinner party or holiday meal, both rings can sit on the dining table simultaneously — large for the main dish, small for a side — creating a matched natural stone table surface that reads as intentional rather than improvised. For buffet table and serving trivet use, the ring form keeps the serving vessel stable on the marble ring base while the open center prevents heat buildup beneath the dish.
Materials & Craftsmanship
These natural stone trivets are carved from genuine natural marble — a metamorphic rock formed when limestone is subjected to extreme heat and pressure over geological time, which recrystallizes the calcium carbonate into the interlocking crystal structure that gives marble its characteristic density, durability, and heat-handling properties. The natural veining visible across each trivet ring is formed by mineral impurities — iron oxide, clay, and other minerals — that were present during the marble's geological formation. This veining runs through the full thickness of the stone rather than existing only on the surface, which is why marble trivets do not lose their visual character with use the way printed or coated products do. Each color variant is carved from a different marble type: the White variant has a clean bright base with subtle grey veining; Black Zebra has bold white veining on a deep black base; Green Onyx has the characteristic banded amber-cream-green layering of Pakistani green onyx; Oceanic has cool blue-grey veining on a cream base; Verona has warm rose-grey tones; and Travertine has the earthy beige-cream tone with characteristic natural pitting of genuine travertine stone. Because each trivet is carved from a separate piece of natural stone, the exact veining pattern and tonal variation of your specific set will differ from the product images — that variation confirms genuine natural marble rather than a manufactured imitation.

How to Care for Your Marble Trivets
These natural marble trivets are hand wash only — do not put them in the dishwasher and do not submerge them in water. After each use, allow the trivet to cool fully before cleaning — placing a very hot marble trivet directly under cold water could cause thermal shock stress in the stone. Once cool, wipe the full ring surface with a soft damp cloth to remove food residue, cooking grease, and condensation. For a deeper clean after heavy use, apply a small amount of mild pH-neutral dish soap to a damp cloth, wipe the full ring interior and exterior surfaces, rinse with a clean damp cloth, and dry immediately. Do not leave the trivets wet and do not allow cooking grease or acidic food residue (tomato sauce, citrus, vinegar) to sit on the stone surface for extended periods — acid etches the natural marble finish over time and creates dull patches. Avoid all acidic cleaners including vinegar, lemon juice, citrus-based sprays, and bleach. For the base protective pads, check them periodically — if any pad wears or detaches, replace with self-adhesive protective pads available at any hardware store. To maintain the natural marble surface long-term, apply a food-safe penetrating stone sealer to the full ring surface once or twice a year. Allow the trivets to dry completely before applying sealer. Store the two rings flat or stacked on the kitchen counter — both ring sizes nest together compactly for storage.

As trivets for marble countertops, the natural stone material coordinates with existing stone counter surfaces better than silicone, cork, or wire alternatives. As a stone trivet for hot pots, pans, Dutch ovens, and cast iron skillets, the marble ring form handles stovetop-to-counter and oven-to-table transfers without scratching, discoloring, or degrading. Frequently Asked Questions
Practical guidance for heat use:
- Cast iron skillets: The 8-inch large ring handles a standard 10–12 inch cast iron skillet straight from the stovetop or oven — the ring base supports the skillet's weight and the stone absorbs and disperses the heat without damage to the counter below
- Dutch ovens: The 8-inch ring is sized for most standard 5–7 quart Dutch ovens including Le Creuset and Staub — the ring circumference provides stable support for the round base of the pot
- Ceramic baking dishes: Both ring sizes handle standard ceramic casserole and baking dishes from the oven — the 8-inch for large family-size dishes, the 6-inch for individual-portion ceramic pieces
- Teapots and coffee carafes: The 6-inch small ring handles teapots, French presses, and coffee carafes — both boiling water temperature and standard brew temperatures
Important: Allow the marble trivet to cool completely before cleaning with water — placing a very hot marble ring directly under cold water can cause thermal shock stress in the stone. Let it cool on the counter first, then clean.
The protective pads create a buffer between the marble ring base and your countertop surface, making these trivets safe for:
- Marble countertops — the most common surface for trivets for marble countertops buyers. The marble ring coordinates visually with the counter while the base pads protect the polished surface.
- Quartz and granite countertops — same protection — the pads sit between the ring base and the engineered or natural stone surface
- Wood dining tables — the pads prevent both scratching and heat transfer from the ring base to the wood surface
- Glass coffee tables — pads prevent the hard marble edge from marking or scratching glass surfaces
- Lacquered and painted surfaces — the soft pads protect the finish from the weight of the marble ring plus a heavy pot on top
If base pads wear or detach over time with regular use, replace with standard self-adhesive protective furniture pads — these are widely available at hardware stores in sizes that fit the ring base.
Big ring — 8 inches diameter:
- Dutch ovens (5–7 quart) — Le Creuset, Staub, Lodge
- Cast iron skillets (10–12 inch)
- Large saucepans and stockpots (3–5 quart)
- Woks and stir-fry pans
- Large ceramic baking dishes (9×13 inch with round base)
- Large serving bowls and soup tureens
- Roasting pans (placed across the ring for resting)
Small ring — 6 inches diameter:
- Small saucepans (1–2 quart)
- Individual soup bowls and casserole dishes
- Teapots (standard 4–6 cup size)
- French presses and coffee carafes
- Mugs and large cups
- Small ceramic ramekins and single-serve dishes
- Instant Pot and rice cooker inner pots (after removing from appliance)
The ring form supports the circular base of most standard round cookware. For rectangular baking dishes, the ring supports the dish from below at the center — stable for resting and serving, though round cookware sits more securely on the ring circumference.
Cleaning routine:
- Step 1: Allow the trivet to cool completely before cleaning — do not run cold water over a hot marble ring
- Step 2: Wipe the ring surface (interior and exterior) with a soft damp cloth to remove food residue and cooking grease
- Step 3: For a deeper clean, use a small amount of mild pH-neutral dish soap on a damp cloth — wipe the full ring, rinse with clean damp cloth, dry immediately
- Do not: Submerge in water, use the dishwasher, or apply vinegar, lemon juice, citrus sprays, or bleach — acid permanently dulls natural marble
- Do not: Leave cooking grease or acidic food residue (tomato, citrus, vinegar) on the stone for extended periods
Annual maintenance:
- Apply a food-safe penetrating stone sealer to the full ring surface once or twice a year — this protects the natural marble against staining and etching from kitchen use
- Ensure the trivet is completely clean and dry before applying sealer
- White — bright white marble with subtle grey veining. Best for minimalist, Scandinavian, contemporary, and all-white kitchen aesthetics. Coordinates well with white marble countertops and chrome or brushed nickel hardware.
- Green Onyx — banded amber, cream, and green tones with dramatic natural layering characteristic of Pakistani green onyx. Best for boho, eclectic, Mediterranean, and nature-forward kitchen interiors.
- Oceanic — cool blue-grey veining on a cream base. Suits coastal, contemporary, and cool-toned kitchen interiors. Coordinates with chrome, brushed nickel, and grey stone countertops.
- Black Zebra — deep black marble with bold white veining. Works in modern, industrial, and high-contrast kitchen interiors. Creates a strong visual statement on white or cream countertops.
- Verona — warm rose-grey tones with fine natural veining. Best for warm-toned, traditional, and transitional kitchen styles.
- Travertine — warm beige-cream sedimentary stone with characteristic natural surface pitting. Best for farmhouse, organic modern, and Mediterranean kitchen aesthetics. Coordinates naturally with travertine tile and warm-toned countertops.
Because each trivet is carved from genuine natural stone, the exact veining and tonal variation of your specific set will differ from product images — natural variation confirms real stone.
- Air circulation: The hollow center allows air to move freely under the hot dish. This means heat disperses in multiple directions — down through the ring to the counter where the pads absorb it, and laterally through the open center. A solid flat trivet creates a sealed heat pocket between the trivet base and the counter surface directly below the pot.
- Visual weight: A marble ring on the counter or dining table has a lighter visual profile than a solid marble disc of the same diameter. The counter surface is partially visible through the center, which preserves the visual continuity of the countertop material — particularly relevant for buyers with marble or patterned stone counters who want the trivet to read as part of the counter rather than an object placed on top of it.
- Stable support: The ring circumference provides an even support platform for round-based cookware — the pot base rests on the full ring edge rather than a single flat plane. For heavy cast iron or full Dutch ovens, this distributed edge contact is stable and secure.
Why this set works particularly well as a gift:
- Two sizes in one purchase — the large 8-inch and small 6-inch rings cover every cookware format. The recipient does not need to source a second trivet for smaller vessels.
- Six color options — White, Green Onyx, Oceanic, Black Zebra, Verona, and Travertine make it easy to match the recipient's kitchen counter material and interior style
- Natural marble reads as a permanent kitchen piece — not a functional pad that gets replaced. The recipient keeps this on their counter indefinitely.
- 11 verified reviews confirm that real buyers are satisfied with the quality in daily cooking use
- Speshstones branded packaging means the set arrives gift-ready
This marble trivet set works particularly well as:
- Housewarming gift for a new home — protects the countertops of their new kitchen from day one
- Wedding registry item for couples who cook or entertain regularly
- Thanksgiving or Christmas hostess gift for someone who moves hot dishes from oven to table frequently
- Mother's Day or Father's Day kitchen gift for a parent who cooks daily
- Realtor closing gift for new homeowners with stone countertops
Two scenarios to be aware of:
- Thermal shock: The primary risk with natural stone is rapid temperature change — placing an extremely hot stone trivet directly under cold running water immediately after use could cause thermal shock stress. Always allow the marble trivet to cool completely on the counter before cleaning with water. This takes approximately 10–15 minutes after removing a hot pot.
- Sustained extreme heat: A natural stone trivet is designed for cookware temperatures — pots from the stovetop, dishes from the oven at standard baking temperatures (up to 450°F is typical for most oven use). Direct contact with an open flame or placement inside an oven is outside the intended use of this trivet.
For the vast majority of daily cooking use — moving pots from the stove, dishes from the oven, and serving vessels from the kitchen to the dining table — natural marble handles the heat without any risk of cracking.
