It looks really beautiful on my kitchen counter. I was worried if the stone might be porous or pockmarked, but both the exterior and interior surfaces are well polished and very smooth. I really like how light shines through the stone.

It is real marble, so it is solid and won’t be sliding anywhere. There is a little indentation where the spoon handle sticks out so you can leave the lid on at all times when not in use. It comes with a little spoon.
I will be using this for sugar at my coffee station. It will hold ½ cup of fine grained sugar. My morning coffee routine just got an upgrade.

The SPESHSTONES salt cellar is a small crock. I wish it were somewhat larger. I wanted a crock so that I could keep salt near to the stove, without spilling it from halfway across the kitchen. The SPESHSTONES is polished and well finished, except for the spoon notch which is a little rough.
Speaking of the spoon, a metal spoon is impractical for salt. Over time salt corrodes stainless steel. The decision to include a stainless spoon was a mistake on someone's part.
On the positive side, the white marble is attractive.
I didn't really need a carved onyx salt cellar to hold the salt that I use with my watercolor, but I like having nice things on my painting desk and it seemed perfect. I love rocks, have collected them for years, and think this is a beautiful example of this type of stone, the banding on it is spectacular as are the colors. It is well made, there is a little roughness in the spoon hole, but it is only rough compared to the smoothness of the rest of the cellar. The spoon is nice, I switched it to a wooden spoon because metal in salt is not always the best. Overall it is a very pretty dish, it might work better for spices that can handle a metal spoon if you want to keep the set together.
I don't think the photos do justice to how pretty this little salt cellar is, it's a heavy stone throughout and made well. It comes with a little serving spoon and is just the right size for next to the oven or on the dinner table. I like that it's a green stone so I can differentiate between salts (my other salt cellar is marble). It's a really beautiful addition to the kitchen.
