...while the texture and type of marble used are as shown (hence my giving this 5 stars--everything is accurate), I wouldn't recommend this chess set for a few reasons. First, the coloring is just too similar. One half is white and the other is off-white, as opposed to black. (Again, the "off-white" is exactly as it is shown, and the manufacturer doesn't depict it as black). Also, the rooks barely look like rooks. That might not seem like a big deal, but when you're down to the last few players on the board and you can't tell if something is a rook or a pawn, it can become a big deal. There are a gazillion chess sets to choose from, depending on your needs (just wanting to learn up to chess set collector), and I think your money could be better spent than on this one.

The quality is impeccable!! Not only is this just a great show piece to have in your house but great if you are a chess fan like me! People are very impressed when they sit down to play chess!! Amazing decoration at the very least and very classy!
This set is amazing! It's so well made and heavy duty! It's a piece that you could pass down from generation to generation. It would make a great gift.
