It looks good and does the job. There are small pores on the surfaces, which is natural for a piece of stone. The edges are not too sharp to bother fingers when handling it, which is good.

Sometimes I order things based on the picture alone. I really convinced myself this bowl was wooden. To my surprise it is stone and a really, very nice stone. The bottom of the bowl has a nice non-slip protection on it and it is quite heavy, but it looks great on the counter. I look forward to buying fruit to put in my bowl on display. This came packaged nicely and no damage. It also comes with a certificate of authenticity.
I have gotten a few products from SpeshStones and they are indeed special. Each piece comes with an authenticity card. The stone is exquisite travertine with its trademark texture. If you are not familiar with travertine, natural travertine has texture and even holes (sort of like Swiss cheese but much smaller). This stunning natural travertine bowl has this texture which adds to it's character. I personally will put down a towel before putting food in this bowl as crumbs will be difficult to get out. I also can not tell if there is a seal or polish. I adore the raw look without a polish but if you want to put food directly in this bowl consider that the one you get may have holes and if it is not sealed, juices may absorb into the stone. But if you are looking for a unique decor piece, this is it!
This is a unique 10" travertine marble bowl. It has a very natural and organic look and feel with a matte finish. I was surprised at how porous it is though, almost coral like. It's more delicate than I expected because of this and I would hesitate to get it wet as some of the holes and chips may get larger. Overall a nice bowl, but is like an artifact and a bit too rustic and delicate for my personal taste. Thnx.
The seller knows how to ship this item. I am very happy with the purchase. The bowl is crafted beautifully. It had a fine powder coating that I washed off and then it was ready to use.
I purchased the bowl, paper towel holder, and utensil holder and they look fantastic. Highly recommend.
